Empowering indie musicians to elevate their careers

PRESS PLAY: 2022 Indie Musician Summit Set To Catapult Independent Music Careers

Are you an independent or emerging artist in search of practical training, industry insights, and new ideas to boost your music career? If so, you won’t want to miss the third-year return of the highly anticipated Indie Musician Summit. On November 19th, 2022, the summit will provide 100% free access to independent and emerging artists, offering a platform for education and networking.

Founded in 2018 by Kate Westwood, the owner of Westwood Management, the summit was created as a response to the lack of support available for emerging artists. With a passion for accessible music management and coaching, Westwood Management offers a wide range of free resources, paid training, and 1-on-1 coaching to support artists in their journeys.

The focus of this year’s summit is ‘Press Play’, providing artists with the tools and knowledge they need to get their music into the hands and ears of fans. With over 25 guest speakers, including Steve Jaz (Music Valley), Lola Major (Kitchen Sync Music), Jena Marino (RSOM), Sidney (Emerging Artist), Chrissy McHugh (Video Producer), Francesca de Valance (I Heart Songwriting Club) and Kerri Ho (The Songbird Tree), the summit will cover topics including music distribution, sync and licensing, social media and music promotion, and marketing.

Attendees of the Indie Musician Summit will have free access to all speakers and artist showcases for 48 hours. They will also have the option to purchase an all-access pass if they want to retain the content beyond the 48 hours and gain access to bonus courses.

Past attendees have reported the summit as being a confidence-boosting, challenging experience. John Newsome (Australia) described it as “an Aussie version of CD baby podcast” with higher-level content that goes beyond starter-level. Marianne Bel (Austria) connected with another member who lives close by and is excited to work together. Nanlini Das (India) learned about different aspects of the music industry and self-care as a musician.
